In Term 1, we looked at many different types of birds. We especially loved this Hokioi that is native to Aotearoa. These are the facts that we found out about the hokioi.
Hokioi used to be the biggest eagle to have ever survived living in Aotearoa. When he spread his wings, they were 3 metres long.

Hokioi loved to eat a huge bird native to Aotearoa. It was the Moa. He would use his razor sharp talons to dig into the moa so he couldn’t get away from the hungry hokioi.
